DESFIPLAGAS Entrepreneurs Association in Estepona has sent today to the city of Estepona the following letter:

In several occasions over the past years, our association has requested that it is seen as urgent and necessary payments to small suppliers Estepona Town Hall, small businesses and businesses in our town that, because to lack of business in recent years are having to survive by cutting costs and utilizing the best your, and depleted, savings.
In view of the adoption of the budgets of the City Council at the last plenary, the local authority has shown a total lack of concern of our leaders about the precarious situation of enterprises and entrepreneurs in Estepona. It seems that the debt incurred years ago by our City Council with local suppliers, is a debt without an expiration date of any payment or commitment, perpetual debt, they have to endure yet Estepona firms despite Current situation economy has led to the closure of so many of them in recent years.
The current economic situation and the lack of projects in our environment in the short and medium term, it is almost impossible for investors outside of Estepona come to our city to set up their business, so that our companies are the only ones that currently can generate employment in our town. Given the high rate of unemployment that is recorded in Estepona, we believe that the creation and not job losses, should be a priority of our leaders, for which they should care, even pampered, companies remaining in our town.
The decision of our government not include a local budgets starting this debt to be declining with its suppliers, will result in short term, not only that these companies can not generate new jobs, if not some of them have to terminate their activity before lack of liquidity to cover the costs.

REQUESTS
this writing it serve as a formal complaint to the Budget of the City of Estepona, adopted at the Plenary of the Corporation on 31 January 2011, in the sense that are modified to include a budget formally committing the council to be declining, throughout the year, the debt it has with our medium and small businesses.
To recognize this debt as such and work in the offices of City Hall in line establish a payment plan over the medium term that allow companies to be recovering Estepona quantities which have been funding some of the activities of our consistory, the City Council publicly committed not to prescribe these bills, no matter how old they are and even if not formally claimed.
Let there be a real commitment by the City, as administration and regardless of the political party that governs in companies provided the Estepona, with formal commitment to pay and meeting deadlines, and stop saying that "no money" to pay when it is known that goes, by some delegations, to other locations to buy necessary and shall be paid on the spot and in cash.
